Hello,
Warm water may only help partially - it is good to drink 2 litres of water per day, regardless. Try to increase the fibre intake of your diet to 20-25 grams per day (stewed prunes, fresh fruit and vegetables, Hi-fibre bran cereal, All Bran cereal, oats, lentils, beans, brown bread, brown rice, wholewheat pasta etc.)
You could try an osmotic laxative called Movicol or Duphulac, these are safe and usually work by the next day, and the dose can be increased or decreased, based on the effect. These are available from a pharmacy, without a prescription. Try to get some regular exercise as well. If this does not help, please see a doctor to be properly examined and correctly diagnosed.
